Upgrades and Renovations
In Real Estate Empire 2 a house's condition is graded from one to five stars. The more stars a house has, the better condition the house is in. This will help determine its property value and base rent. You can still shift rent up or down, but the primary rent value will come from the inherent value of the house which is based on size, location and the condition of the property. Upgrading a property will cause it to gain one star at a time, while renovating a property will push it all the way to fully improved with five stars. The more work you do at one time in a renovation, the more money you will save. Taking a house from one star to five will cost more than taking a house from three stars to five, but the larger renovation is also a better value if you can afford it.
As noted in the repairs section an upgrade or renovation will automatically fix, for free, any pending repairs.
